Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church

August 27, 2007: It was a stormy Monday when the family travelled south to Lucban Quezon. Our purpose was to hear the 10 AM healing mass of Father Joey Faller at the Kamay ni Hesus Healing Church. This church was visualized by Father Joey to give the sick and the spiritually weak a haven where they could feel and experience the presence of God. It was really raining hard when we reached the church. And to our surprise, there were a lot of pilgrims seeking to be healed despite of the bad weather. We arrived just in time before the start of the mass. Unluckily though, the church was full packed that we heard mass outside the church. Armed with our umbrellas and jackets, Lai together with the kids, solemnly heard mass. After the mass, there was a healing service conducted by Father Joey himself. Father Joey touched everybody including James, John and Nikki and prayed over everybody and asked the Lord God for his blessings.

At the back of the church was a steep hill transformed into a picturesque Via Dolorosa Grotto of Healing and Purification. The grotto had 292 steps, life-size statues of the 14 Stations of the Cross and a 50-foot statue of the Ascending Christ. It was believed that it's the third biggest in the world than can be seen miles away.

We were lucky that after the healing service, the heavy rains stopped. So up we went to the top of the grotto. We stopped every 30 steps to rest. On our 5th stop, the kids started crying and wanted to be carried all the way up. At this point, we decided to abort our plan of reaching the top. But vowed to return to finally reach the top.

It was indeed a touching and memorable experience to visit the shrine of Kamay ni Hesus in Lucban Quezon.
