Tayo na sa Antipolo!

May 23, 2008: It's the merry month of May once again and it is the time of the year where Antipolo city celebrates its Maytime Festival. Thousands of devotees young and old pay homage to Nuestra Senora De la Paz Y Buen Viaje commonly known as Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage.

Loraine also celebrated her birthday on the 23rd of May. After hearing mass at the cathedral, the kids strolled around the newly constructed Rizal park just in front of the cathedral.

We posed for a souvenir shot with the new mascots of the city. Mr. Suman and Ms. Kasoy were there to entertain visitors and to encourage them to take home with them the city's pride, the suman and kasoy.

A ride with the Hamaka was also available for a minimal fee of 50 pesos. During the 1800's, ladies, elderly, and affluent ones, who visit Antipolo, rode hamakas carried by strong young men.

Indeed, the Pilgrim City has a lot to offer.

Kaya tayo na sa Antipolo!
