Hong Kong @ Seven

May 20, 2010. To celebrate the 7th birthday of my twins, James and John, we decided to treat them to HK Disneyland instead of the usual 7th birthday party celebrations. Thanks to Cathay Pacific Airline's all in promo, even with a tight budget, we were able to get a round trip ticket to HK with hotel accommodations at the Disney Hollywood hotel and unlimited pass at Disneyland park.

We also visited Ngong Ping to experience the customs and culture of Lantau Island. It is a 20 minute cable car ride from Tunch Chung Town Centre. We enjoyed the panoramic view of the Hong Kong Airport and South China sea. Unfortunately, we were not able to view the Tian Tan Buddha, the world's tallest seated outdoor bronze Buddha, due to cloudy weather.

From Victoria Harbor, we took the Star Ferry to reach Kowloon.

A tram ride to "The Peak" was an unforgettable experience for the kids. This funicular railways is known as the world's oldest. At the top, it is a 360-degree view across Hong Kong. (428 meters above sea level)

It was indeed a memorable 7th birthday for my boys.
